Scottsdale, Ariz. – Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations (SLE), Disco Donnie Presents, and Evening Entertainment Group bring the Canadian dubstep duo Adventure Club to Axis Radius for Republic BASS on December 14, located at 7340 East Indian Plaza in Scottsdale, Ariz. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Musicians Christian Srigley and Leighton James, better known as Adventure Club, formed in early 2011 as a producer/DJ duo. The two came together while attending high school in Montreal and began a hardcore/pop-punk band, but later became bored of the style and decided to make the move to Electronic Dance Music’s (EDM) emerging genre, dubstep.
Adventure Club’s signature sound consists of high-pitched female vocals, mixed with electronic beats and heavy drops, which they credit to the unique program they use to produce their music. The recording software Sonar Cakewalk is rarely used in the EDM scene, but has helped the pair separate themselves from the growing pack. Adventure Club was able to reach new levels of exposure through the power of the Internet, utilizing Soundcloud, YouTube and song sharing website Hype Machine.
Having started as a pop-punk band, many of their most well-known remixes are influenced by songs of thatgenre. “Daisy” by Brand New was their first hit, followed by remixes of Alexisonfire and Thrice, and a collaboration with punk-influence dubstep trio Krewella on “Rise & Fall.” Their remix “Everything to me” by the Lips, has garnered over 1.4 million views on YouTube.
Currently ranked 161 on dj-rankings.com, the duo continues to grow in popularity as their tours take them across North America, Europe and Australia. SLE and DDP also produced Adventure Club’s last performance in Arizona at the state’s largest EDM festival, Sound Wave.
